The Collegiate Intellect dressage saddle is a very comfortable saddle due to being made with an easy-ride pretreated leather which helps the Intellect feel broken-in, more pliable and very soft to sit on.
This makes the Collegiate Convertible Intellect saddle stand apart from other dressage saddles and is therefore preferred by many riders. The Intellect is also the saddle of choice for the AQHA and IHSA.
The seat has a narrow twist which makes it easier for the rider to sit securely in a nice long position, following a straight line from ear to shoulder, hip to heel. With the saddle flaps and knee rolls helping to keep the rider in the correct position along with a "Y" girthing system to keep the girth pressure distributed and keep the saddle in the correct position. The recessed stirrup bars give a close contact feel and the Collegiate Intellect also allows the horse maximum freedom of movement and has the added advantage of an Easy Change gullet system whereby the saddle can be altered to fit the changing confirmation of the horse.
The one disadvantage we have heard is that the stirrup leathers have a tendancy to rub smooth beneath the riders legs and in spite of the official blurb it does need some breaking in. In summary, a reasonably priced dressage saddle with the feel of the more expensive Albion or Bates dressage saddle.
